April 2011 Newsletter • Big Bobby Brampton took the honours at the Paul McMahon Invitation Cup at Ilford Golf Couse.  With an impressive 36 points Bobby’s hard work through the winter period paid dividends.  This was the first part of Bob’s 2011 season strategy.  He was focused on winning the first day out of the season and came good on the day.  The next part of his strategy is to get a top five finish and rightly claim his Ryder Cup place. Danny Walker came a close second with 34 points and looks a promising prospect for the future.  Paul McMahon won the nearest pin prize, but could not withstand the pressure from brother Steve and only mustered a pawltry 22 points (how the mighty fall!). It was a good turnout with 25 people playing, and it was good to see some new faces as well as guests.  Mark Orwell won the guest prize with 36 points off a 16 handicap. I would like to thank Paul McMahon for organising the day, and also Richard and Richie for making the day run smoothly for everyone. • Warley Park Golf Club  -  Click here for details about the venue on Tuesday 26th April 2011.  Club shirts are to be worn, and jacket and club tie for the evening meal. • Weekend Tour  -  We need to pay the deposit for the weekend tour, so to book your place please call Steve, Paul or Richie.  You will need to pay £20 deposit by the 30th April 2011.  The full price is £120 which includes bed, breakfast and evening meal with 2 rounds of golf for Sun 11 and Mon 12 Sept 2011.  Click here to go further details on the Venues page. • Other Details  -  New hats and shirts will be available at Warley Park.  Only £5 for a shirt and £10 for a new hat.  The Matchplay draw will take place at Warley Park and it will be £5 to enter.  Dave Standing will produce the 2011 handicaps.  Guests and new members are welcome.
